Other roads of the normal road network affected by strong traffic flows are the RA13 and RA14 motorway junctions in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Statale 36 of Lake Como and Spluga in Lombardy, the Statale 45 of Val Trebbia in Liguria, the Statale 26 in the Valley. d’Aosta, the Statale 309 Romea between Emilia Romagna and Veneto and the Statale 51 of Alemagna in Veneto.
To reduce queues, Anas removed five hundred road construction sites on 8 July, about half of those currently active. This measure will remain in effect until 8 September. The motorway company has also increased checks on the roads, where 2,500 people work for surveillance, emergency response, assistance to users, coordination of technical and management activities. The entire network is monitored by twenty-one local Operations Rooms and a National Situation Room, which can monitor traffic conditions via 6230 fixed cameras.
